Thai Bbq Ribs Recipe

One of the greatest ways to enjoy Thai BBQ ribs is by using your hands and tasting the succulent sticky goodness that has been infused with delicious Thai flavors.

The Thai BBQ marinade makes these grilled ribs taste even more juicy than many other rib recipes, and is sure to please anyone who appreciates the delicate flavors of Thai cuisine.

Thai BBQ Rib Ingredients

1.5 lbs. of pork ribs
4 Tbsp. oyster sauce
2 Tbsp. dark soy sauce
1 Tbsp. fish sauce (Squid brand or Blue Dragon are particularly good if you can find them)
1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. dark soy sauce
1/4 cup of golden or maple syrup
4 cloves of minced garlic
1 thumb-size piece of grated ginger

Preparation

To add a little heat to the ribs, you may optionally add a single fresh bird-eye chilli, minced, OR a small amount (around 1/2 Tsp.) of Cayenne pepper.

Garnish the Thai BBQ ribs with 3 finely sliced spring onions.
To prepare the Thai BBQ ribs

Slice the pork ribs into easy-to-eat segments and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Place all of the remaining ingredients (except the garnish) together in a sauce pan on a low to moderate heat, stirring continuously until the syrup has dissolved and the ingredients have been combined together thoroughly.

Pour half of the Thai BBQ sauce over the pork ribs and then stir together well to coat them fully, allow to cool, cover, then place the marinated pork ribs in a refridgerator for 2 to 24 hours. The longer the better.

When you are ready to cook the ribs, brush the grill beforehand with a touch of vegetable oil, and then light up the barbecue and bring up the temperature to a moderate heat, and turn the ribs once every one to two minutes until done.

Brush a little of the remaining marinade on the Thai BBQ ribs after each turn, ensuring that each coating is lightly done. Adding too much marinade will simply drip into the BBQ grill and be lost forever!

Remember that properly cooked ribs will be white or a light pink color.

Warm up the reserved Thai BBQ sauce and serve it together with the pork ribs, adding a generous sprinkle of the spring onion over the ribs.

Serve with steamed Jasmine rice and steamed vegetables for a substantial and deliciously healthy meal.

Tip: Cooking the ribs using a medium heat over a longer period yields better results, otherwise the ribs may toughen up, or even blacken if cooked to quickly. The best Thai BBQ ribs take a little time!

BBQ Tips or Site?

The story: Due to an accedent this past weekend, I was thrown into the position of cooking at out barbeque (i had been in charge of grilling some burgers throughout the day). Anyway, the original cook left no instructions and no one else even had an idea where to go. So i threw together a dryer version of a pork marinade I use and ended up making some amazing ribs. I had several peopl coming back for more after we ran out (even my 80 year old grandmother without teeth). So now I am in love with the Barbeque and restocked my fridge with more meats for BBQs throughout the month. I have more ribs (beef and pork), 2 whole chickens, brisket, and a few steaks. Needless to say my friends and family will be having quite a few parties this month.
The question: Anyone have ant recomendations. Anything will do. From choices of coal, wood, marinades, rubs, how to keep the temperture low enough, smoking, ect. A good site would be great(all I found didnt have much info). Thank in advance.

Hickory Smoked Bbq Beef Brisket

One of the greatest joys of cooking BBQ is to take a fine joint of beef and smoke it slowly with hickory wood chips. It is such a simple recipe to follow, and one that is always hugely popular at weekend grill-fests.

Hickory Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket Ingredients

6 cups hickory chips
8 to 9 pounds beef brisket, choice grade
Your favorite BBQ dry rub and BBQ sauce

Method

Remove any excess fat from the brisket, leaving a good quarter inch of fat remaining so that the brisket retains succulence during cooking. Take your BBQ rub, and rub the brisket well with your fingers until the whole joint has a good even coating.

Wrap the rubbed brisket in plastic and refrigerate it overnight.

The following day, remove the brisket from refrigerator 1 hour prior to cooking and allow it to stand until it reaches room temperature. Just prior to adding the brisket to the smoker, mop the whole joint with your favorite BBQ sauce being careful not to add too much. You just want a light even coating, and you can always add more later if you want to.

Bring your BBQ smoker up to  200 to 225 degrees F, and during this time, take the hickory wood chips and allow them to soak until your smoker is ready to start cooking the brisket.

When you are ready to start cooking the brisket, add three or four handfuls of the hickory chips to the charcoal, and place the brisket inside.

After 2 hours, place the brisket on heavy-duty aluminium foil and pour a 1/4 cup of your sauce on top of the joint and wrap it up so that no moisture can easily escape. Continue to cook the meat in the smoker for another 2 to 4 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 185 degrees F.

Always use a meat thermometer if you can as this will ensure that your meat is properly cooked, avoiding the chance of it being underdone and losing valuable heat from the smoker which will increase the cooking time.

Remove the brisket from the foil and allow it to stand and rest for about quarter of an hour.

Slice the meat against the grain into 1/4-inch thickness and add a generous amount of your favorite BBQ sauce and serve!
Smoking Tips When BBQ’ing Beef Brisket

Don’t check the joint too often you will lose cooking heat.

Wrapping the brisket in aluminium foil will allow you to increase cooking time and help keep the meat nice and moist.

Adjust cooking times to suit barbecue temperature and outside conditions.
